This month we head down to Asok/Sukhumvit 19 to meet the original godfather of natural wine establishments in Thailand, About Eatery!
In the last few highlights, we have been focusing on purely bars that stage or offer scrumptious small plates to pair along side their wines. At About Eatery, the ethos on wine curation is held to the highest natural integrity and their food is integrated into the overall experience. Did you know that they are Vegan-friendly in several of their offerings alongside a vast vegan wine selection!
Cold cuts; A huge variety of cheeses. Their Beetroot ravioli is something we always go back for. (Tip: Pairs well with the Chilean natural wines). The food offering at About Eatery is solid and stands up to the reputation of its homely, heartwarming Italian comfort food!
As for the wines, Organic, Biodynamic and Natural wines run the Gamut. Giulio who runs About Eatery along with his wonderful team, has curated a wonderful, almost encyclopedic, wine list. Wines from California, Georgia, South Africa even Tenerife! So many flavor profiles, so many styles. You can just sit, sip and learn!
Trust Giulio to guide you in the right direction for your natural wine needs (We always let him pick wines for us!). Being a sommelier by profession in his early days, he took a big leap away from conventional wines, and started focusing on what he is passionate about. It's all about conviction and belief.
