Jura : An honest expression of Terroir
It was in the smallest wine region in France that one of the most famous white wines was created: the vin jaune, or yellow wine. Reds, rosés, sparkling or sweet desert wines, the wines of the Jura are as varied as the cultural and culinary heritage of the region.
The Jura vineyards, which extend through the foothills of the mountains, are among the oldest in France. Over an area of nearly 80 km, from Salins-les-Bains to Saint-Amour, the soil is suitable for the production of red, white and rosé wines but also sparkling and sweet wines, like the famous vin de paille, or straw-coloured wine, and the vin jaune, or yellow wine.
