Wine Insight :
Claus Preisinger is one of, if not the best red wine makers in Austria. Working in the town of Gols on the northeast side of the large, but very shallow, lake Neusiedlersee near the Hungarian border, Claus Preisinger farms biodynamically and conscientiously and his approach in the cellar is minimalist resulting in extraordinarily expressions.
Made of 100% Blaufrankisch, Manual harvested, lightly macerated for a few days, fermented with indigenous yeast, aged for 8 months in amphora. Undergoes malolactic fermentation. Not filtred and little SO2 added at bottling. ‘Dope’ is a fun lightly sparkling Blaufränkisch. Crunchy berries and bright acidity.
