Wine Insight :
The grapes are picked by hand with great respect for the environment. The philosophy of the domain is to “compose” wines in connection with the soil type, the topography, the grape varieties and the microbial life of the soils i.e. making wines by combining what nature has to offer with the winegrower’s personality.--- The wines of La Cadette represent a brand which groups together two estates: La Cadette, Montanet Thoden and a vinification business: La Soeur Cadette.
With Burgundy ravaged by frost, Winemaker Valentin looked to the south to purchase grapes in order to supplement his production and make up some of the lost profit. This decision also gave him a chance to vinify Beaujolais, an idea he had long entertained. Sourced from an organically farmed vineyard on granite soil, this Juliénas is textbook cruBeaujolais: very aromatic with loads of fresh Gamay fruit, it flows over the palate with a juicy buoyancy that makes it hard to resist. Highly recommended!
