Meinklang is a family business with a vineyard as biotope located in Parmhagen in Burgenland, at the Hungarian border. Here vineyards are surrounded by natural ponds, animals, and wild herbs such as meliot, vetch, red clover and wild grasses offer a domicile for beneficial insects and soil organisms. Three generations of the family is now living and working on the estate. They all believe that robust and healthy vines can only thrive in living soils to produce unique wines of character These wines made from grapes grown organically using natural composting techniques and special preparations of herbal sprays while following the astronomical calendar.
Graupert means 'wild', the vines are not pruned at all during the season so grow Feral. Four week maceration, wild yeasts. Dark ruby in color. Earthy nose of plum, raspberry, sour cherry, cinnamon, leather, blueberry, tobacco, oak, pepper and licorice. 100 % Zweigelt, almost wild growing (therefore the name Graupert) grapes. Dry, acidic with medium tannins. good balance. Complex, aromatic, fruity
