Spain Unfiltered

For many years, we at Naturalista always shied away from Spanish wines. The very thought of the term invoked memories of heavy, big and bold wines that were oak-forward and made with little or no thought for the earth. We look back today, and feel we obviously we didn't know what the hell we were talking about!

It was sometime in October 2019 that we were introduced to a wine by Julia Casado, 'Ninja De La Uvas'  which completely changed our perception about Spain forever. "Is this the movement of the future?" hell yes! 

As the bright pink-ruby red juice was poured into our glasses, the feeling was like meeting the love of your life for the first time. It was truly magical! Maraschino cherries and raspberries bursting into the stratosphere on the first few sips.  Light on its feet but with a foray of complexities. We were hooked!

Since then, we've been actively tasting and curating an array of Spanish wines made with a minimal intervention approach. Below we have listed our basket of winemakers whom we consider the new guards of Spanish wines. Mark our words, Spain is the frontier for natural wines for the many years to come, Enjoy!
