Wine Insight
Cambridge Road Vineyard is a small, 5.5 acre estate in the esteemed Martinborough Terrace Appellation.
Lance Redgewell and his family are the newest stewards of this vineyard, which was first planted in Pinot Noir and Syrah grapes in 1986; previously known as the Fraser Block. The vines are amongst the oldest in the country and Cambridge Road Vineyard continue their management with love and pride.
Lance says,"For us, small means beautiful. We focus our time and energy on perfecting and beautifying our land and cultivate it according to natural biodynamic principles. Our commitment is to making fine, handcrafted wines through meticulous viticulture and traditional winemaking techniques."
The new Rabbit vintage intense aromas of a tropical diversity. A delicate balance between sweetness and acid gives this fruit forward Sauvignon an approachability, even for those who would not usually gravitate towards this variety. A little more tannin than most due to skin contact gives the wine extra drive and palate weight.
