Wine Insight
Cambridge Road Vineyard is a small, 5.5 acre estate in the esteemed Martinborough Terrace Appellation.
Lance Redgewell and his family are the newest stewards of this vineyard, which was first planted in Pinot Noir and Syrah grapes in 1986; previously known as the Fraser Block. The vines are amongst the oldest in the country and Cambridge Road Vineyard continue their management with love and pride.
Lance says,"For us, small means beautiful. We focus our time and energy on perfecting and beautifying our land and cultivate it according to natural biodynamic principles. Our commitment is to making fine, handcrafted wines through meticulous viticulture and traditional winemaking techniques."
This year's Rosé is a combination of both the Millton and Cirrus Vineyards fruit.
Pinot Noir is the core component; initially blended with Riesling for co-fermentation in our large Totara cask. Just prior to bottling we chose to include a gift of our Under Your Skin blend for balance. We've gone under crown cap this year with the understanding that this wine still has some life in it and may well gather some spritz as it evolves. Relax and enjoy this summer or next.
