Wine Insight
Jochen Beurer’s family has been growing grapes for generations in Kernen, just outside of Stuttgart. In 1997, the family made the difficult decision to leave the cooperative that Jochen’s father, Siegfried was the head of, and start their own independent winery. Their goal was to improve the quality of the wines they were making and have “a lot of fun with wine”.
Today, the estate focuses on ecology and preserving the environment. The 10 hectares of vineyards are certified biodynamic by Demeter, the natural, methods ensure not only “healthy, balanced vines, but also create habitats for herbs, plants and animals”.
Light gold in colour with aromas of lemon, grapefruit, jasmine, honey and an herbaceous wisp. Honey glosses lemon, yellow apple, green apple, white flowers, and candied ginger accented by fresh acidity. Pink grapefruit defines the mineral driven finish. Silky, bright, a fantastic balance of sweetness and dry minerality.
