Wine Insight
Radikon winery is located on the upland of Oslavia, a hamlet of Gorizia, in the heart of Collio; since 1980 it is conducted by Stanislao, by his wife Suzana and by his son Sasa, who, after earning a degree in oenology, has begun working alongside parents’ management.
In 1977 Stanislaus began to work in the first cultivation of vines. He was young and attracted by the novelty and, as he said, “I entered in the infernal circle of those who did use a rake of chemistry in the country…”. At first the results seem very satisfactory, but with the passage of time Stanislaus realized that his wine was not what he wanted.
Precisely in this situation, he decided to change radically course: no more chemicals, sulfites or sulfur dioxide in the vineyard or in the cellar, where you pass the maceration in wooden vats. The results are surprising: the wine is wonderful, full of character and personality. Together with other wine-growers, who share his philosophy, Stanislao founded the association ViniVeri, who claims the absolute necessity to cultivate the land using traditional methods without polluting it with chemicals and to produce healthier wines, following the methods essays handed down by tradition of these places.
“Our intentions for the future are animated by the same spirit that now motivates us to produce natural wines, working hard to give the best of ourselves year after year. “
