Wine Insight :
Tetramythos is situated near Ano Diakopto overlooking the Gulf of Corinth in northern Peloponnese. Cultivation of grapes here dates back to at least 150 AD, with glowing contemporary accounts. The beautifully wild vines are planted in a variety of true cool climate vineyards on the slopes of Mount Aroania, where breezes from the gulf of Corinth help produce fresh and balanced grapes.
The winery is owned by the spectacularly named trio of Aristides and Stathis Spanos, who are brothers, and the highly talented winemaker Panagiotis Papagiannopoulos, regarded as one of Greece's most talented natural winemakers.
Made from 100% Malagousia, the wine is light gold with green highlights. The aromatic profile is complex and elegant, with aromas of stone and citrus fruits, white flowers, with notes of herbs to follow. The mouthfeel is full and oily, with high acidity and some hints of mineral elements that lead us to a long aftertaste.
